Hi! My name is Natalie. Welcome to my digital portfolio. This site will showcase my work in AE 311 (Design Thinking).

A little about me – I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, on the traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am very fortunate to have grown up so close to the water and surrounded by the beautiful nature of the west coast.

In terms of hobbies, I really like getting outside in nature for a hike, dog walk, or photography session. I also have a puppy who keeps me very active. Her name is Willow, and she is a happy two-year-old cavapoo! I also love to bake!

A few years ago, I took an art class as part of my program and found it quite fun. This inspired me to take a photography course to fuel my creativity. I then found several Art Education courses that sounded like they could be fun and beneficial to me as a teacher. I thought taking them would also be a great challenge and a fun way to do something I enjoy. (And hopefully, improve as well!) So, this summer, I’m diving into five different Art Education courses. I’m excited about exploring design thinking and hope to learn new skills to bring into my future classroom. I’ll admit I’m a bit nervous about not having enough creativity or experience. I have never felt particularly confident in art, but I enjoy it and always give it my best effort. I’m excited to see what this summer holds!
